The service of medicine includes 15 beds established on the ground floor (which 6 beds especially appointed to palliative care). Liberal general practitioners take care of the patients. In his office, at home, in the hospital, the same medicated doctor can continue treating on the patient. If necessary, doctors specialists (cardiologist, rééducateur, dermatologist, surgeon, psychiatrist) intervene in service. All common care is assured in service.

Certain consultations and specialized exams can be accomplished outside.

Unit of palliative care:

It is a question, for the soignante person, of granting more attention to the sick man than to illness. This care is approachable to every person arrived at the beginning of life. Unit assures the patients a quality of care able of making them live the last stage of their life in a most comfortable possible manner. Unit counts 6 rooms adapted with view on the park full of flowers of the hospital. Single rooms, with for some a small living room or a bed of accompanying, allow to the family to stay to the patient 24h / 24. They are equipped with a bathroom, with TOILET, washbowl and of a telephone with direct line. A collective room of bath equipped with a tub of balnéothérapie can be used for relaxant baths. Meals are offered to accompagnants families their close. A « family space » established in unit allows to the patients and to the visitors to meet except rooms.

Service of following Care and Readjustment:

The service of following care and readjustment includes 28 beds on the first floor of the establishment and 2 patients' beds in vegetative COMA . The service of following care and readjustment receives(welcomes) patients in recovery or in re-education after a surgical operation or after the treatment of a high-pitched sentence of an illness. Rooms in one or two beds are nice and comfortable (office of toilets, shower, possibility of television and telephone). The 2 beds reserved for the patients in vegetative COMA allow to assure technical care and of comfort which requires their state. Rooms are adapted to the taking care and allow to receive families.

The taking care of pain:

The hospital of Guémené implements the clean means to take care of the pain of the patients which it receives and to assure the palliative care which their state requests, whatever unit and structure of care in which they are received. Pain is not a fate, they can tell it and treat it. You can help us to adapt your treatment better by measuring your pain with the aid of slide which the nurse will introduce you. Gates of valuation of pain are also used by the personnel.
